Yongxing Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Dongxing District, Neijiang City, Sichuan Province, is located in the southeast of Dongxing District. It is 23 km away from the urban area, and the inner (River) boundary (city) road passes through. It covers an area of 54.44 square kilometers and has a population of 21371 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 22 villages and 2 community neighborhood committees. It is one of the three major aquaculture bases in the region.

Evolution of organizational system

The original temple culture of Yongxing Town is very rich. The local people habitually call Yongdong township "Yongxing Temple". There is a couplet widely spread in Yongdong Township, which is "Ziqi comes from the East, Yongwei is prosperous, and no red dust is stained". In order to be more consistent with the local history and culture and the people's customary appellation, it was renamed "Yongxing Town". Yongxing Town was set up in the Qing Dynasty. In 1913, it was changed to Yongxing Township, in 1942, it was changed to Yongdong Township, in 1958, it was changed to commune, and in 1984, it was restored to township. In December 2014, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved the withdrawal of Yongdong township to establish Yongxing Town. On April 10, 2015, Yongxing Town was officially listed.
