Zhonghe town

Zhonghe Town, formerly known as liziwei, is a town under the jurisdiction of Yuechi County, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, China. It is located in the southeast of the county, by the Qujiang River in the south of Guang'an City, 12 kilometers away from Guang'an City and 30 kilometers away from Yuechi County. It covers an area of 34.69 square kilometers.

Geography

Zhonghe Town, formerly known as liziwei, is located in the southeast of Yuechi County, bordering Mingyue Town of Huaying City, Linxi town of Yuechi County, Fulong Town, Luodu town and Hualong township of Guang'an District. Liziwei community is located on the Bank of Qujiang River, with developed water and land transportation, and used to be an important town on water. Located in the southeast of the county, 43 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 34.69 square kilometers and has a population of 18837 (2017). The town has 21 village committees including yangtouba, hexiaxi, zhuya, Taiyangping, shanlingwan, tuerliang, Liangfengya, damiaoshan, heyangou, changliangzi, zhiguangzui, shiziba, Longquan Temple, qingjiatang, Jindingshan, ganjialiang, zuojiazhai, majiaqiao, Damiao, ziyangping, erlangmiao, and 3 neighborhood committees including Xinchang street, Zhengnan street and Shangdong street.

Liziwei township was built in 1921, Zhonghe township was changed in 1941, Zhonghe town was built in 1952, Chiwei town was renamed in 1966, Zhonghe town was restored in 1971, Zhonghe township was merged in 1984, and Quhe township was merged in 1992.

The tomb of Chen Lianshi and his wife is located on a high mountain near Zhonghe Town, Yuechi County, with its back against the towering Huaying Mountain and facing the surging river. The Yuechi County Government and the Chongqing Federation of literary and art circles built a joint tomb for the couple. The tombstone is engraved with "the tomb of martyr Liao Yubi and Comrade Chen Lianshi". At the back of the cemetery are two rows of stone tablets engraved with their revolutionary vows and writings. Although it rained heavily that day, people came here to mourn. Perhaps people are too familiar with the legend of the old woman with two guns in red rock, so they are full of sincere respect for Chen Lian's poem, the original form of this artistic image. Chen Lianshi and her husband, martyr Liao Yubi, are sleeping in their hometown. They overlook the broad shuanggun lake. They are accompanied by the vast rivers and canals all day long, enjoying the breeze in the morning and the sunset in the evening.

Chen Lianshi (1900-1960), also known as Chen Yuping, was born in 1900 in a scholarly family in Luodu Town, Yuechi County, Sichuan Province (both maternal and paternal lines were big families who had been in the Imperial Academy in the Ming and Qing Dynasties). She graduated from Yuechi County, married Communist Liao Yubi in 1923, and went to Nanjing to study in Southeast University. When she was studying, she took part in the May 30th Movement. After graduating from University, he returned to his hometown to organize Huayingshan armed uprising. Participants of Huayingshan armed uprising (it is verified by many parties that there were no women in the uprising guerrillas at that time, so it is speculated that they did not directly participate in the fighting). In 1926, when our party was in its infancy, it was still in the exploratory stage of armed struggle. Liao Yubi, a young intellectual who accepted Marxism Leninism, resolutely accepted the dispatch of the party organization. He took his wife Chen Lianshi back to his hometown, Yuechi County at the foot of Huaying Mountain in northern Sichuan. Taking advantage of his own advantages, he took over the power of the local militia armed forces, seized with his comrades the psychology of the masses and small and medium-sized landlords hating the reactionary warlords, took part in the "northern Sichuan people's army" uprising under the banner of anti Ding, anti grain and local autonomy, and on this basis established the revolutionary armed forces under the direct leadership of our party. Under extremely dangerous and difficult conditions, he persisted in guerrilla warfare for more than 20 years This is rare in Sichuan and the whole country. On February 23, 1935, he and his husband Liao Yubi (the main leader of Huayingshan guerrillas) were both arrested by Sichuan warlord Yang Sen, and Liao Yubi died bravely. After he was released from prison, he led a revolution with his children. Following his husband's footsteps, he served as the leader of the three Red Guard teams of the Northeast Sichuan temporary working committee. He fought in the mountains and forests of Yuechi, wusheng, Hechuan, Yingshan, Dazhu, Quxian, Xichong and Dianjiang counties. She led a team of more than 40 people with two guns, which won by surprise and made the enemy scared. Therefore, the prestige of "old woman with two guns" spread all over the southwest provinces. At the beginning of the Anti Japanese War, the Kuomintang and the Communist Party cooperated again and were transferred to the United Front work.

After the liberation of Chongqing, he was assigned to work in Chongqing women's Federation as vice minister of production. During her tenure as vice minister of production department of Chongqing women's Federation, she was forced to "quit the party" together with a group of veteran party members because of all kinds of unnecessary charges. After coming out of the women's Federation, he was assigned to work in Xiaonanhai jinjieshan reeducation through labor hospital. A year later, she was elected deputy to the National People's Congress. Later, Shao Zinan, then vice chairman of the southwest Federation of literary and art circles, rushed to appeal and was transferred to the Chongqing Federation of literary and art circles. She picked up the brush that she had put down for many years and became a professional painter. She is good at painting flowers, birds and ladies, especially butterflies. Her "hundred butterflies" and other paintings have participated in the national art exhibition and attracted the attention of relevant parties. On July 21, 1960, Chen Lianshi asked someone to write down her last "application for joining the party", that is, the 42nd application for joining the party. The next day, in the quiet cicadas, she rode away by crane. On August 16, 1982, Chongqing daily solemnly announced in an important article on the front page that it would rehabilitate Chen Lianshi, a veteran member of the underground party, and restore his party membership. It was 30 years and two months before she quit the party.
