Longkou town is located 20 kilometers north of Xincai County, at the junction of two provinces (Henan and Anhui), three counties (Xincai, Pingyu, Linquan) and six townships. National Highway 106 runs through the whole town. The town has 20 administrative villages, 225 villager groups, 42765 people (2017), 67000 Mu of cultivated land, with a total area of 66.39 square kilometers (2017).

Longkou, with nine ports converging here, has the reputation of "gathering in Jiulong". It is commonly known as Longkou. In the Ming Dynasty, it has become an important town in the north of the county. "Longkou Xinqing" is one of the eight ancient sceneries of Xincai.

History and culture

In ancient times, Longkou was a land of glory, which the ancestors could not cultivate. In order to save this party, God ordered the Dragon King to send his nine sons to arch jiutiaogou harbor to drain and dry. Nine Dragons came at the command. After 7749 days, it happened to be completed in Longkou at the same time. Since then, it has been called "jiulongkou". For a long time, the word "Nine" was omitted for convenience, and it was called "Longkou". The nine ports are still in existence today. They are distributed in the vast land of Longkou. From south to north, they are called Hangang, langang, Liugang, Wanggang, Xugang, Zhaogang and zhougang, plus xiaolonggang and Longkou Dagang. Among them, Longkou Dagang is the most famous. It runs through the town from northwest to Southeast and flows into Yangbu town of Pingyu county through 11 villages, including houzhouzhuang, qianzhouzhuang, wangtanzhuang, Zhangzhai, tawangzhuang, Zhaolou, zhangxiaozhai, Longkou, Fanzhuang, lanzhuang and Shizhai, with a total length of 11 kilometers.

Due to the dense distribution of longkougou harbor, drought can irrigate, waterlogging can drain, good weather, abundant grain and outstanding people, there are many literati and skilled craftsmen in history. Zhang Zhiyuan is one of them. Zhang Zhiyuan, who lives in zhanglaozhuang in the north of Longkou, is a person of the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. He is famous for his excellent painting and calligraphy. His ancestors took a burden to beg for food and fled from the north to zhanglaozhuang. They made their home by reclaiming wasteland, planting land and spinning cotton. Later, they bought land and built houses for their sons to study. By Zhang Zhiyuan's father's generation, Zhang Shixing had developed into a famous family with 24 hectares of land. The East and west of longkouji are his manors. It is said that Zhang Zhiyuan had been a teacher in Lingbao county (now the director of Education), and his family set up a lake to raise fish and lotus. At that time, the lotus leaves in the sky and the lotus flowers in the sun could be called a scene in Longkou. The lotus pond happens to be adjacent to the two ports flowing from the northwest and northeast, and the two ports are as curved as beauty's eyebrows, and they meet at the same place, so they have the metaphor of "Phoenix arm". In addition, in the west of the two arrows, there is a towering pagoda King Zhuang Shanhua temple. The pagodas face each other across the water, forming a beautiful landscape of Longkou. The ancients chanted "eight sceneries of Xincai" and first called "Xinqing of Longkou". We can imagine the wonderful scenery of Longkou at that time. Chongde town

origin

Chongde is the second year of emperor Taiji of Aixinjueluo, the Taizu of Qing Dynasty. In order to stabilize the political power and promote the family of Manchu and Han, the Qing government strongly advocated Manchu to study Sinology and attached great importance to education. Chongde school was established in Longkou town to spread the idea of advocating morality and learning. It advocated that people should promote lofty character and love and pay attention to learning, which reflected the idea of "educating people first and moral education first" We should learn the guiding ideology. Later generations continued to use this name to establish Chongde town.

According to legend, longkouji was originally tawangzhuang village.

In ancient times, the ancestors lived by fishing and hunting. Tawangzhuanggou harbor is vertical and horizontal, and the water system is developed, which is convenient for fishing. Later, the market gradually moved eastward to the north of Longkou. The ancestors mainly engaged in fishing and hunting gradually developed into farming, and tawangzhuang was still the economic center of Longkou. Because of the rich land of Tawang village, there is still a saying that "jinlongkou and yinfanzhuang can't catch up with Tawang village".

In the Tang Dynasty, there was a year of severe drought, and the grain of crops was not harvested. In the Tang Dynasty, people ate people, dogs ate dogs, mice ate bricks hungry, leaves and bark ate up, and weeds in ditches were weighed. In the imperial court, the sky warden pointed out that there was a dry magic pile in Tawang village, so it was necessary to build a tower to suppress the demons. Li Shimin, the king of the Tang Dynasty, ordered Yuchi Jingde, the general of the army, to supervise the construction of the tower. Yuchi Jingde went to Tawang village and recruited skilled craftsmen to build kilns and burn bricks. All of a sudden, the fog lasted for three days and three nights. On the fourth day, the clouds opened and the sun rose, and a huge tower towered into the clouds. Since then, the weather has been good, the grain harvest is good, and the people are celebrating. In order to appreciate the great kindness of the emperor, the people built a temple beside the tower to worship the heaven, named Shanhua temple. The Shanhua temple is large-scale, with three entrances and three exits. It is divided into three main halls with 100 houses. In the front hall, the bell tower and the drum tower stand against each other, with stone lions holding the door; in the middle is the main hall, with a huge body of living Buddha; in the back, there is the Sutra collection building, with dragon and dragon paintings, painted with color and gold, spacious and bright, which is very spectacular. Every day and every night, the cigarette is winding, the bell is melodious. Inside and outside the temple, there is an endless stream of people who help the old and young to worship the Buddha, pray for their sons and gods, and cure their diseases. People who are looking for victory and businessmen from far and near come in droves. They either climb the tower to look at the scenery or express their feelings. The folk slang of "climbing the tower on the first and the fifteenth day of junior high school, no pain in the waist, no eyesight" has been heard from time to time.

Unfortunately, the tower has been damaged many times. According to the county records, the tower is located in front of tawangzhuang village, Longkou town. The tower, 43 meters high and 37.7 meters long, was built by Yuchi Jingde in the Tang Dynasty. Now there are also steles recording the pagoda temple scattered under the small bridge in the northeast corner of tawangzhuang, and the handwriting is still recognizable.
