There are 82 households and more than 600 people in the village. The work of rice breeding in this village is well-known. The villagers breed more than 600 mu of rice every year. The annual output value of breeding is more than 900000 yuan, and the average income of each household is 11000 yuan. Bugu village began to plant oil sunflower in 1998, and then gradually developed on a large scale. In 2005, the village made use of oil sunflower resources to develop sightseeing eco-tourism agriculture, which promoted the economic development of the whole village. The average net income of the whole village remained above 3300 yuan, and the annual income of the village collective economy was more than 60000 yuan.

Located in Gaochang village committee, Baiwei Town, Shanglin County, Guangxi Province, Bugu village is a natural village, 110 kilometers away from Nanning City, which is a cultural scenic spot. education

The village attaches great importance to culture and education and has a long history. There is a dignified "Ru Nan gate" at the entrance of the village. On both sides of the gate are carved couplets with strong handwriting and high culture: "Ru Shui Qingliu scholars study farming and rope ancestors' martial arts, Nanshan is straight and beautiful, and Ren Li extracts humanities". This gate was built in the Qing Dynasty, showing the villagers' interest in farming, reading, teaching and learning. In the Qing Dynasty alone, there were more than 20 people named Xiangsheng, Bingsheng, Gongsheng and Wuju.

Nowadays, more than 190 rural children in Bugu village have been admitted to universities and technical secondary schools, and 78.8% of them have passed the college entrance examination over the years. More than 10 of them have gone to Peking University, Tsinghua University and other famous universities for further study. There are 71 households rated as "number one scholar households" (families with one child admitted to technical secondary school or above). It is not unusual for a family to have three or four college students here. Among them, there are 18 people in a family of three generations, including 12 college students and 2 technical secondary school students. There are engineers who have participated in atomic bomb design work, experts who have worked abroad, students who have studied abroad, teachers, associate professors, senior economists, senior agronomists and national secondary directors working outside the village.
