Shuanglong town
Shuanglong Town, belonging to tumed Right Banner of Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the southeast of tumed Right Banner, bordering on tumed Left Banner and Tuoketuo County of Hohhot in the East, jiangjunyao town in the South and West, and meidaizhao town in the north. The area is 248 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 43256 people registered residence.
In 1958, it was incorporated into Tumet banner with Salaqi county. During the communization, Shuanglong town was changed into lianyue commune. In 1959, lianyue commune was renamed Shuanglong commune. In September 1961, Shuanglong commune was divided into four communes: shahaizi commune, sandaohe commune commune, maodai commune and Shuanglong commune. In January 1969, tumed banner was divided into tumed Right Banner and tumed Left Banner. In September 1984, Shuanglong commune was transformed into Shuanglong township. In September 1986, Shuanglong township was transformed into Shuanglong town. In June 2020, Shuanglong town governs 31 administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 7 industrial enterprises in Shuanglong town and 36 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
In the middle and late Ming Dynasty, it was the pasture of Tumet tribe in Mongolia.
In 1723, the division of Mongolian and Han was carried out, and the Mongols in the territory belonged to 5A of Tumet right wing banner.
In the 27th year of the Republic of China (1938), it belonged to the 5th class a of the right wing banner of Tumet.
In the 35th year of the Republic of China (1946), it belonged to the sixth autonomous Supervision Office of tumed special banner.
In 1950, it belongs to District 5 of Salaqi county.
In 1953, it was changed to zone 6.
In March 1954, the Mongolian nationality in the town was incorporated into the Sixth District of Salaqi county.
In 1955, District 6 was renamed Shuanglong district.
In 1956, it was changed into Shuanglong town.
In November 1957, it was incorporated into Dadai district.
In 1958, it was incorporated into Tumet banner with Salaqi county. During the communization, Shuanglong town was changed into lianyue commune.
In 1959, lianyue commune was renamed Shuanglong commune.
In September 1961, Shuanglong commune was divided into four communes: shahaizi commune, sandaohe commune commune, maodai commune and Shuanglong commune.
In January 1969, tumed banner was divided into tumed Right Banner and tumed Left Banner.
In September 1984, Shuanglong commune was transformed into Shuanglong township.

In February 2006, shahaizi and sandaohe were merged into Shuanglong town.
