Wenbi town

Wenbi town is the seat of Hequ County and the political, economic and cultural center of the county. It is located on the East Bank of the Yellow River in the northwest corner of Hequ County, facing Longkou town of Inner Mongolia and JuTou township of Shaanxi Province in the north and West, louziying town in the East and xunzhen town in the south.

Wenbi Town, formerly known as huigouying or hebaoying, was renamed Chengguan after liberation and historically known as "zisaixiongguan". It is a heavily guarded "jinyouyanjiang" as well as a "water and drought wharf" for the distribution of goods in Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia. In 2001, it was withdrawn from the township and merged into the town.
