Xizhai Township

Xizhai township is a township under the jurisdiction of Qi County, Henan Province. It is located in the northeast of the county, 14 kilometers away from the county, covering an area of 66 square kilometers, with a population of 41072 (2017). Shiyuan Yindian highway passes through the town. It is adjacent to baiyunsi town of Minquan County in the East and Shuangta town of Minquan County in the north. Xizhai people are hardworking, kind-hearted and hospitable.

Xizhai township was established in 1975 and changed to Xizhai Township in 1983. It borders Shuangta Town, baiyunsi Town, Minquan county. It has a cultivated area of 56000 mu, covering a total area of 7.9 square kilometers (including forest farms). It governs 32 administrative villages and 49 natural villages. Xizhai township is mainly planted with traditional crops, such as wheat, peanuts, fruits, apples and peaches, To develop economy and improve people's living standards, Xizhai township has 22 primary and secondary schools, the medical conditions of township hospitals are constantly improving, and cement roads are widely paved in the territory. There are three tombs of Han Dynasty in huangtugang village. One of the larger Han tombs is now the location of huangtugang primary school, which is named for its yellowish brown soil.

Balufen is located 13 kilometers northeast of Qixian City, northwest of Xizhai village and southeast of Cuilin village. It is now called Xizhai martyr's tomb. During the Anti Japanese War, the Shuidong prefectural committee of Qixian County was led by jiluyu military region. In 1944, jiluyu military region sent cadres and troops from neihuanglanfeng section to cross Longhai Railway to aid Shuidong area. After arriving at Qibei, it decided to wipe out the enemy's civil rights stronghold of Yangcheng city in the first battle and exert military prestige, Balu cemetery was built for 18 martyrs, such as the "Southward brigade" of Hebei Shandong Henan military region, who died in conquering the Japanese puppet civil rights stronghold in Yangcheng on July 4, 1944. Later, some martyrs who died in the war of resistance against Japan and the war of liberation were buried here, and the cemeteries continued to expand. At present, there are 50 tombs, covering an area of 14 mu, with 15 rows of poplar and 10 rows of cypress planted in the tomb area. It was announced as a county-level cultural relics protection unit in 1986.
