Weiyuan town

Weiyuan Town, subordinate to Huzhu Tu Autonomous County, Haidong City, Qinghai Province, is located in the middle and west of Huzhu Tu Autonomous County, with Donggou Township in the East, tangchuan town in the south, Wufeng town in the west, Taizi Township and Donghe Township in the north, covering a total area of 80.88 square kilometers.

In the Song Dynasty, the area around Weiyuan town was called "Muma camp" and "Muma garden". In 1983, Weiyuan town was restored. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Weiyuan town was 69953. In 2019, Weiyuan town governs 8 communities and 23 administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 30 industrial enterprises in Weiyuan Town, including 3 Enterprises above Designated Size and 65 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters. On December 11, 2019, Weiyuan town won the honorary title of national demonstration area (unit) for national unity and progress.

History of construction

In the Song Dynasty, the area around Weiyuan town was called "Muma camp" and "Muma garden".

In 1535, the city wall was built and named "weiyuanbao".

Qing Kangxi 13 years (1674), set up a capital division.

In 1930, Weiyuan town was established.

In 1958, it was incorporated into shatangchuan commune.
