Dayou township is located in the West foot of Taihang Mountain and the middle of Wuxiang County, Shanxi Province. It is located at 112 ° 21 ′ E and 36 ° 78 ′ n. It is adjacent to Panlong town in the East, Jiahuo and Guxian Township in the west, Dachagou in Yushe County in the north, Hongshui town in the south, Jianzhang town and Shangshang Township in the south. The total area under the jurisdiction is 95.7 square kilometers, including 33571 mu of cultivated land, 35000 mu of barren hills and slopes, 26 administrative villages, 74 natural villages, and 12958 permanent residents (2017).
