Fengzhou town is located in Pingxiang County, Xingtai City. Fengzhou town has outstanding people, prosperous market, rich resources and strong industrial foundation. Fengzhou town is located in the east of Xingtai City, where Pingxiang county government is located. The town covers an area of 36.6 square kilometers. Before the Yuan Dynasty, it was Taiping Township, Sanhe Town, one of the four major market towns in the county in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In this town, there are some historic sites, such as the Zhouhe Hill Palace site of Shang Dynasty, Xinggu temple and so on. The first emperor of Qin Dynasty, who was on a tour to the East, died in the sand dune palace in Wanggu village, Fengzhou town.

During the reign of Tongzhi, Su Xing, the magistrate of the county, wrote a poem: "the sand dunes used to build gardens, which dates back to Yin and Shang Dynasties. On that day, the forest hung meat, but now the trees and hills, the birds and songs were mixed, the flowers and wine were fragrant, the scenery was lingering for a long time, and the complex Yin sent the setting sun.". The town has 20 administrative villages, 20 villagers' committees and 34772 permanent residents (in 2017), which is one of the larger towns in Pingxiang county.

The town is the seat of Pingxiang county government and the center of political, economic, financial and cultural activities in the county. Before liberation, the grain yield was less than 100 Jin per mu, and a large number of labors went out to make a living in spring and winter. After liberation, under the leadership of the party and the people's government, the construction of water conservancy, the deep ploughing of land, the improvement of soil and alkali, and the excavation of underground water resources greatly changed the conditions of agricultural production, greatly increased agricultural output, and fundamentally improved the people's lives. Xingtai Qinghe highway and Dingzhou Weixian highway meet here, with convenient transportation, complete communication facilities and developed economy. The industry takes the plastic industrial community as the backbone, and has building materials, chemical industry, machinery, bicycle parts, leather, clothing, transportation, catering services and other industries. In 2006, the total grain output was 25728 tons, the total industrial and agricultural output value was 700 million yuan, and the per capita income was 2631 yuan.
