Development history

Longquan town is a millennium old town with a history of 1377 years. The old city was built in 618 A.D. in the first year of Wude of Tang Dynasty. It is the political, economic and cultural center of the prefecture and county. Now it has developed into the political, economic and cultural center of Xishan District of Linfen City. It was called Li in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and changed to street office after the Republic of China. On November 28, 1946, Xixian county was liberated, and the people were the masters of the country. After 1949, Chengguan administrative area was rebuilt. In 1956, Chengguan Township was built. In 1958, it was called Chengguan commune. In 1966, Chengguan town was rebuilt. In 1985, Chengguan Town People's government was set up. In April 2001, it merged with Beizhuang Township and was called Longquan town of Xixian county. As Longquan town is located in the open area around the intersection of Zichuan River and Gucheng River, there are three rivers in the north and southwest. In ancient times, it was called "water lotus city". In the center of the city, there is an ancient building "grand view building", commonly known as "ancient building".
