History and culture
Puzhou town is famous for its unique history, culture and natural landscape. In Sui and Tang Dynasties, there were many literati, such as Wang Wei, Liu Zongyuan, Lu Lun, etc.; in Song Dynasty, there were many painters, such as Wang Juzheng, Ma xingzu, etc.; in Qing Dynasty, there were many actors, such as Qi Yanzi, Guo Baochen, etc. Puzhou was also the birthplace of "Pu opera", the originator of all kinds of Bangzi opera. Puju, or "Puzhou Bangzi", is commonly known as "Luantan opera" by local people. It is named after the ancient Puzhou (now Yongji) area in southern Shanxi. It is the oldest one of the four bangs in Shanxi. It was formed in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty. It is mainly popular in Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan, Gansu, Qinghai, Inner Mongolia, Hebei and other provinces.
Located in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, Puzhou in Shanxi Province and TongZhou (today Dali) and Chaoyi in Shaanxi Province, Shanzhou (today Shanxian) and Lingbao in Henan Province are located in the triangle area where the torrent of the Yellow River flows southward and eastward. Facing each other across the river, they have had close economic and cultural exchanges for a long time, and their customs, pronunciation and dialects are basically the same. At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, "random bomb" was popular in this area. Later, although Puzhou Bangzi and TongZhou Bangzi named after Puzhou and TongZhou respectively were two kinds of operas, they actually had the same origin. Although they have different development and changes, the artists of the two places call themselves "Luantan". Kong Shangren praised Pingyang (today's Linfen) as the famous Xiaodan kuiwa "huabangzi" in "Pingyang Zhuzhi CI Luantan Ci" (1707) in the 46th year of Kangxi, which shows the popularity of Luantan in southern Shanxi at that time. Tongzhou Bangzi, originally known as Qin opera, was recorded by Yan Changming in Qin Yun Jie Ying Xiao Pu during the reign of Emperor Qianlong that the famous Qin opera Dan Xianglin crossed the Yellow River "from Puzhou to Taiyuan", which also shows that the Bangzi tunes in Shanshan and Shaanxi are interlinked with each other. Artists in Puzhou and TongZhou have always been in the habit of acting together. During the Jiaqing period, there were performances of "Shanshan Opera Troupe" in Beijing. Until the Guangxu and Xuantong periods, there were still some performers from Puzhou and Tongzhou in Beijing, such as mingxusheng Guo Baochen (yuanyuanhong, Puzhou Opera Troupe artist) and Bai Changming (Gaishan, Dandan, Tongzhou Opera Troupe artist) who performed "whipping Luhua". Therefore, Beijing, Tianjin and Zhili (Hebei) have always been called "Shanshan Bangzi". In addition, they also had the experience of acting in Laohekou, Xiangyang, Hubei Province. Shanshan opera once played an important role in the formation of local opera
