Xinglong Town

Xinglong town is under the jurisdiction of Luding County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Located in the east of the county, 26 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 108.22 square kilometers and has a population of 9172 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 8 village committees of Hualin, Shencun, Haizi, Xinglong, Yangshan, Yinchang, Heping and Qingfeng, and 1 neighborhood committee of Xinglong Street.

Historical evolution

In 1956, Xinglong Township was established; in 1958, the commune was changed; in 1984, the township was restored; and in 1992, the town was established.

economic development

Agricultural production of corn, rice, potato, snow mountain soybean, specialty pepper. There are iron, manganese, coal and so on. Haizi mountain in Shencun has Haizi with a circumference of five li. There are red, white, black crucian carp and water chestnut in the sea, which is one of the landscapes of the whole county.

Celebrities and monuments

There is an ancient tomb of Baima in the village, which is the tomb of King Liu of Sanwu tribe (Tang Dynasty). Tan Bizhi, the leader of Luding uprising in 1911, Zhou Yiyan, the leader of Luzhou uprising, Sima Delong, the martyr who died in the Anti Japanese war in Shanghai, and Wang Huiying, a famous female painter in Xikang were all from this town.
