Longhua Town

Longhua Town, 37 kilometers south of Pingshan Town, Pingshan County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, is named after the Longhua temple built in the Ming Dynasty. National historical and cultural town. It has a long history. It was built in the Song Dynasty, and formed an ancient town in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. There are stone carvings and statues of Danxia cave, a provincial cultural relic protection unit, the largest standing Buddha in China with a height of about 30 meters, Qinghong bridge in Anjian, Yuwang palace, Longhua temple, Dusi yamen, fenyinshi, Shishi, and well preserved wooden blocks. There are more than 30000 Alsophila spinulosa trees on both sides of Xisha River. Danxia, located in Dayu village, has a beautiful landscape.

On August 24, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved the adjustment of administrative divisions of some towns in Yibin City: Longxi township was cancelled and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Longhua Town, which was located at 152 Mingqing street.

On March 2, 2021, it was selected as the third batch of "the most beautiful ancient towns in Sichuan".

Historical evolution

Longhua town was built in the Song Dynasty, and formed the existing scale of the ancient town in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It has been an important garrison town along the Sichuan border. At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, garrisons were set up. In the ninth year of Yongzheng period, garrisons were set up in Pingshan, Mabian, Muchuan, Leibo and other places. Castles were built in the first year of Xianfeng (1851), and then repaired in the ninth year of Xianfeng. The magnificent stone lions of Dusi yamen are now moved to Liangqiao for people to enjoy.

Traffic information

Take the bus from Yibin bus station to Pingshan County. After arriving at Pingshan, you can take the bus directly from Pingshan or via Longhua. There are about five buses a day.
