Shidong Township
Shidong township is under the jurisdiction of Wu'an city, Handan City, Hebei Province. With a permanent population of 22850 (2017), there are scenic spots such as the former site of the people's newspaper. The village is rich in iron ore resources. The main industries are mining, metallurgy and building materials. Agriculture mainly produces wheat, corn and so on.
Historical evolution
Zhaozhuang and Shilidian townships were established in 1953, Yangyi commune in 1958, Shidong commune in 1961, and township in 1984. In 1996, Baiguan township was incorporated. Located in the west of the city, 22 kilometers away from the city. It covers an area of 64 square kilometers and has a population of 21000. It has jurisdiction over 15 village committees in Shidong, Zhaozhuang, Hexi, tianerzhuang, caozixiang, Shilidian, Hedong, Sanwang village, Qingyan temple, Baiguan, shierzhuang, heyeyi, nanhedi, beihedi and Tanling. From 1946 to 1948, the government of Shanxi Hebei Shandong Henan border region once stationed in Sanwang village.
