Datong Town

Datong town is located in the suburb of Changting County, adjacent to Xinqiao Town and Tongfang town in the East, Cewu Township in the south, Gucheng Town, Ruijin City and Shicheng County in Jiangxi Province in the west, Tiechang Township and Anjie Township in the north. With a total land area of 211 square kilometers, the town government is located in Dongguan village.

In 2019, there are 263 villager groups in the town, with a total number of 15872 households and 53983 people.

Geography

Datong is rich in natural resources. The famous eight scenic spots in Tingzhou are all located in this area. Longshan Baiyun, cangyu ancient cave, Tongji waterfall spring, Chaodou Yanxia, Yunyi Fengyue, Baixiang Qingshan, pili Danzao and baozhujinglan are all located on the banks of Tingjiang River. They are close to mountains and rivers and have a unique flavor. The famous Tingjiang Hakka mother river runs through the north and south, with a water area of 6097 mu. There are 3 power stations with an installed capacity of 594 kW, 19944 mu of arable land and 2623 mu of garden land, especially the small plain surrounding Tingzhou County, which has broad and flat land, fertile land and many kinds of agricultural and economic crops can grow in the south. It is the main base of pollution-free "vegetable basket" project in Changting County. It has 228564 mu of forest land, 57056 mu of bamboo forest, coal, limonite, limestone and other mineral resources. It has a subtropical marine monsoon climate with an average annual temperature of 18.5 ℃, an average rainfall of 1700mm and a frost free period of 270 days.
