The old town is located in the east of Yingjiang County, 19 kilometers away from the county, which is the first East Gate of Yingjiang. It was called Chenglong town in ancient times. In Tang Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty, there were "abxicheng" and "zhenxilu". Ganya is the residence of the 14th generation Tusi government, so it is called the old city. During the period of the Republic of China, Yingjiang set up the Administration Bureau. From early 1954 to October 1958, it was the original residence of Yingjiang County. In 1997, it covers an area of 151 square kilometers and has a population of 19000. The minority population accounts for 66.39%. It governs six administrative villages, namely, Jiucheng, Hemeng, Xinmin, Dongbing, haosa and Dongshan.

One junior middle school, 25 teaching classes, 1459 students and 60 teaching staff; one central primary school, 17 village primary schools, 80 teaching classes, 2419 students and 160 teaching staff. There are 13 village clinics, forming a health center centered epidemic prevention network.
