Yushang Township

Yushang township is located in the southwest of Qingyuan County. The township government is located in Shangen village, which is 18 kilometers away from the county seat. It is adjacent to Songyuan town in the East, Longgong and Annan Township in the south, and Pingdu town in the West and North.

The township governs 12 administrative villages and 42 natural villages. The total population of the township was 7302 (in 2017), and the population density was 140 per square kilometer. There are 69895 mu of mountain forest, including 18623 mu of Phyllostachys pubescens forest.

In 2007, it was rated as the model village of Xinglin Fumin by the forestry department. In 2008, it was named the Provincial Ecological township; in 2009, it was named the demonstration township of prospering forest and enriching people by Lishui municipal government; in 2010, it was named the cultural Shanhua Township by Lishui City; in 2011, it was named the provincial sports strong township.

Climatic and topographical characteristics

The territory is located in the mountainous area of Southwest Zhejiang, south latitude, rich in heat resources, climate belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate, warm and humid, four distinct seasons, warm in winter and early in spring, climate vertical difference is obvious. In the four seasons, spring and autumn are short, summer and winter are long, and the seasonal characteristics are obvious. Longhou highway, a provincial highway, runs through the township from north to south. Anxi flows from south to East. There are many mountains in the East and West wings, and the river valley is wide in the middle. Water flows into Anxi from the East and West, and joins Songyuan River after passing JuShui village. the natural conditions of the whole area are superior, suitable for grain planting, and it is the main grain producing area in Qingyuan County. The territory is rich in bamboo resources, with 18623 mu of bamboo forest. Changlong and tanggen villages have a long history of bamboo handicraft industry. The territory is rich in clay and non-ferrous metals, producing daily-use pottery, known as "pottery town".

Agriculture

Yushang township has been mainly engaged in agriculture for a long time, and grain production is the basic industry. Through the adjustment of agricultural structure, the pattern of "mushroom, tobacco, bamboo, tea" as the dominant industry and other industries developing together has gradually formed. In 1997, Yushang Township began the trial planting of flue-cured tobacco, which developed rapidly in the whole township. By 2002, 3720.4 mu of flue-cured tobacco was planted in 12 administrative villages of the township, with a total output value of 6.225 million yuan and a single output value of 712 yuan per capita. After the expansion in 1992, some bamboo processing factories appeared in Yushang Township, with toothpicks, handicrafts and so on. After entering this century, the industrial development of Yushang township has been accelerated, the number, quality and scale of enterprises have increased greatly, the family industry has developed rapidly, and the processing of supplied materials has quietly risen in this township.
