Daying Town

Daying Town is a township under the jurisdiction of Weishi County in Henan Province. It is located in the northwest border of Weishi County, adjacent to Zhongmou County in the West and North, Gangli and Dama townships in the south, Xingzhuang, Daqiao and menlouren townships in the East. It is 11 kilometers long from north to South and 12 kilometers wide from east to west. It is 13.5 kilometers away from the county seat, covering a total area of 65 square kilometers, with 69715 mu of arable land and nearly 100000 mu of barren woodland.

History and culture

Daying Town of Weishi County is located in the eastern plain of Henan Province. Li Zicheng, the leader of peasant uprising in the late Ming Dynasty, entered Henan twice and set up a camp to fight against the army. So later generations called this place Daying.

Peiligang cultural site and Yangshao cultural site have been excavated. For the first time in China, the site of offering sacrifices to heaven has been excavated.
