Taiping Town, Shimen County, Hunan Province, is located in the Northwest Mountainous Area of Shimen County, 94 km away from Shimen County, east to Ziliang Township and Sansheng Township, South to Weixin Town, West to Hupingshan Town, National Nature Reserve, north to yuyangguan Town, Wufeng County, Hubei Province, with a total area of 359.44 square kilometers (2017). It now has 13 administrative villages, 5 neighborhood committees and 26672 people (2017).
