Yulin Acropolis

Yulin city was built in the early years of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (around 1370). It was originally named Yulin village and was the weitunsuo of Suide. In 1449, the fortress was built. In 1471, the Yulin garrison was built. In 1473, the Governor Yu Zijun built it again. He moved the rule of Yansui town from Suide to Yulin. Therefore, Yansui town is also called "Yulin town".

Yulin, as one of the nine important towns along the great wall of Ming Dynasty, was the political, military and cultural center of Northern Shaanxi at that time. As one of its landmark buildings, Yulin Acropolis, with its complete military defense system and antique market style, fully embodies the profound connotation of the ancient culture of Northern Shaanxi since the 15th century.
