Mujin town

Mujin township is subordinate to Pingjiang County, Yueyang City, Hunan Province. It is located in the east of Pingjiang County, adjacent to Longmen town in the East, Changshou town in the South and Hongqiao Town and shiniuzhai town in the north. It covers an area of 118.94 square kilometers, and has jurisdiction over 14 villages, 255 villager groups and 27416 people (2017). The area of cultivated land is 20519 mu, including 18255 mu of paddy field and more than 150000 mu of mountain forest. Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was the seven guarantees of Muzhen township. Historical evolution

In 2002, the township government was stationed in papaya market town. Papaya market town is located at the intersection of Longmu highway and Hongmu highway. It was built in 1966, formerly known as "Sanyanqiao", and later renamed as papaya market town because it is the seat of papaya township government. In 1993, papaya market town was re planned, with a planning area of 1.2 square kilometers. In 1995, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged.

After many hiking explorations, they finally found water sources on the mountain of Huadeng village, 3 kilometers away from the township market town. After testing, the water source is rich and the water quality is excellent. Subsequently, the township party committee and government decided to use the natural gap formed by the mountains to guide the rich mountain spring water to the central market town, and build a safe drinking water project according to local conditions. They actively strive for the attention and support of the provincial, municipal and county water conservancy departments, and adopt the way of upward striving and social fund-raising, with a total investment of 720000 yuan, which lasted for more than three months, invested more than 3000 labor, built a diversion dam with a water storage capacity of 2000 cubic meters, a water supply station with a daily water supply capacity of 500 tons, a 200 cubic meter reservoir, and laid 8.2 kilometers of water transmission and distribution pipes. The project was completed in October 2007 and passed the provincial and municipal acceptance.
