Baoshan town is under the jurisdiction of Baoshan District in Shanghai. It is the seat of Baoshan District Party committee and government. It extends to Wusongkou at the intersection of Huangpu River and Yangtze River in the south, Yangtze River in the East, wenzaobang shenshibang Guoyuan boundary river in the West and Baogang Huchang River in the north.

Baoshan District geriatric nursing home, formerly known as Baoshan District infectious disease hospital, was transformed into a geriatric nursing home at the end of 2000. It is a first-class specialized hospital, located at 5425 Gonghexin Road. Since February 2001, the elderly patients have been admitted for trial operation, and in May 2001, the clinic was officially opened, with 220 beds.
