Shihezi town

Shihezi town belongs to Shihezi city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and was originally Shihezi township. Shihezi town is surrounded by the urban area from east to west and south, with an area of 39.57 square kilometers and a population of 11352 (2017). Xinghuo people's commune of Shawan County was established on November 20, 1958, and Shihezi town was established in November 2013, with 21 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. In 2013, the GDP reached 204 million yuan. Shihezi town is located in the upper reaches of Mahe River, with rich water resources, fertile soil, sufficient light and good water and soil conditions. It is an important supply base of fruits, vegetables, flowers, meat, eggs and milk in Shihezi city.

History of construction

Shihezi was the eastern territory of Wusun in the Han Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, it was one of the Xixiang villages in Suilai county (now Manas County). from the Republic of China to 1956, Shihezi township was under the jurisdiction of Shawan County. On November 20, 1958, Xinghuo people's commune of Shawan County was established. In 1962, Xinghuo people's commune transferred it to the leaders of Bayi sugar factory of BINGTUAN. In 1965, he was also in charge of the Industrial Communications Department of the production and Construction Corps of the Xinjiang Military Region. since July 1, 1969, it is subordinate to the Eighth Agricultural Division of Xinjiang production and Construction Corps (the eighth division of Xinjiang production and Construction Corps). In 1985, Xinghuo people's commune was abolished to build a township, known as Shihezi Township, Shihezi city. in November 2013, Shihezi town was replaced by township.
