Laoqitai Town, belonging to Qitai County, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southeast of the county. It is adjacent to xijil town of Mulei County in the East, Qihu Township in the south, Qitai central regiment farm of the Sixth Agricultural Division of BINGTUAN in the West and three Zhuangzi townships in the north. The area is 177.13 square kilometers. In 2018, 12926 people registered residence.

In 1958, it became the red flag commune. In 1978, it was renamed laoqitai commune. In 1984, it was rebuilt into laoqitai town. In October 2019, laoqitai town governs one community and four administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 9 industrial enterprises in laoqitai town and 24 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
