Shoushoushui township is located in the south of Zhongning County, with a total area of 549.19 square kilometers and 13860 people (2017).

Evolution of organizational system

In October 1958, the shoushoushui commune was established, and the districts and townships were abolished. The commune was under the jurisdiction of the management area.

In September 1961, jijiazhuang commune was set up from Chengguan commune, shoushoushui commune and xinzhuangji commune, and xialiushui commune was set up from shoushoushui commune.

In January 1984, the commune was changed into a township; at the same time, Hexi township was established in the east of Qingshui River and Taoshan mountain.

In December 2003, the government of the Autonomous Region decided to put shouhuoshui Township in Tongxin County of Wuzhong City under the jurisdiction of Zhongning county. In 2004, Tongxin county was put under the jurisdiction of Zhongning County, which includes majiatang village, Gaoling village, shangzhuangzi village, xiazhuangzi village, zhouduantou village, beigouyan village, jiantaizi village, hejiakouzi village, zhoujiagou village, zhoumazhuangzi village, wufengtai village, shoushoushui village, Shiquan village, beiyankou village and tianjiataozi village.

On February 27, 2011, we learned from the 89th executive meeting of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region government that our district will adjust the administrative divisions of xutao Township and shoushoushui Township in Zhongning County, so as to make the area under the jurisdiction of the two townships, population and management radius relatively balanced. According to the adjustment plan, a small part of Xinzhuangzi, xialiushui, dataizi, Shangliushui, datanchuan, tianjiatan, baiquanzi and zhoujiagou villages in shoushoushui Township, including the sabulatan ecological resettlement project area, will be under the jurisdiction of xutao township. With an area of 549.19 square kilometers and a total population of 13860 (2017), xutao Township People's government will move to Paradise Village (namely sabulatan ecological migration project area).

economic development

In 2006, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the township is expected to reach 41.777 million yuan. The per capita net income of farmers reached 1260 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29%. Selenium sand melon income reached more than 14 million yuan, the township per capita income from selenium sand melon reached more than 300 yuan.
