Zhihema Township
Zhihema Township, belonging to Tianjun County, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province, is located in the southeast of Tianjun County, bordering zhouqun Township and Jianghe town in the East, Xinyuan town in the south, kuairma Township in the West and Longmen Township in the north. In 2018, the area of the township was 854.31 square kilometers, and the registered residence population was 1648.
In October 2019, zhihema township has six animal husbandry committees.
In 2011, there were 56400 livestock, with an annual output of 18169 piglets, with a survival rate of 89% and a stocking rate of 46%.
Historical evolution
Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, the area under its jurisdiction was the pastoral area of zacha hundred tribes.
In 1958, zhihema township was established.
In 1959, it was changed into zhihema commune.
In 1963, it was restored to zhihema township.
In 1969, it was restored to zhihema commune.
In 1984, it became zhihema Township again.

Location context

topographic features
Zhihema township is located in the fold belt of Qilian Mountains. Xiaxiahaqu passes through the territory from north to south, mainly in hilly, mountainous and swampy terrain. The terrain is high in the East and West, and low in the middle, with an altitude of 3500-4000 meters.
hydrology
In zhihema Township, there is xiarihaqu, a tributary of Buha River, which originates from Longmen Township and has a length of about 32 kilometers. It flows from the territory to Jianghe town and Xinyuan town and then into Buha River. Its main tributaries are ranquehe, lehedang, charangma, Jialong, muqiagongma, muqiashuma, etc. its main water source is hundreds of springs.
