In 1949, the two regions belonged to one administrative region. In 1956, it was merged into paradise. In 1958, it merged with Chengguan commune and became the blissful brigade of Chengguan commune. In 1961, the blissful commune was established. In 1984, it was renamed as the Hui nationality town of bliss. On November 6, 1985, it was renamed "paradise". In October 2019, there are 11 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of blissful township.
