Wuping town

Wuping Town, subordinate to Zhouqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the southwest of Zhouqu County, adjacent to Guoye Township, baling Township and chagang in the East, Boyu Township in the south, Dayu Township, Duoer Township in Diebu county and Nanping County in Sichuan Province in the west, Fengdi Township, Chengguan Township and Nanyu Township in the north. The area is 392.14 square kilometers. In 2018, 5906 people registered residence.

After 1949, Wuping and Naxia (Qiaozi) townships were set up. In 1953, the Wuping autonomous region was established and Wuping and naxiaxiang were set up. In 1959, Wuping and Bazi communes were established. In 1965, it was merged into Wuping commune and later renamed Wuping township. In 2018, the township will be changed into a town. In June 2020, Wuping town governs nine administrative villages.

In 2018, there was one industrial enterprise in Wuping town.

Wuping town is located in mountainous area with steep terrain. The terrain is high in the West and low in the East, with big mountains and deep ditches. Qingshanliang, the lowest point in the territory, is located at the beach, 4504m above sea level. Dashuigoukou, the lowest point, is located at Naxia village, 2050m above sea level.
