Tanping Town, subordinate to Lixian County, Longnan City, Gansu Province, is located in the southwest of Lixian County, adjacent to Longlin town and leiba town in the East, wangba town in the south, Qiaotou town and Baihe Town in the west, Baiguan town in the north, 70 kilometers away from Lixian County, with a total area of 125.57 square kilometers.

In February 1952, Tanping township was established, belonging to datan district; in 2018, Tanping township was changed from township to town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in beach town was 11924. As of June 2020, Tanping town has 18 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the town people's government is stationed in Tanping village.

The main food crops in Tanping town are wheat, corn and potato. In 2018, Tanping town has two comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

History of construction

Tanping town is named after the town government's residence in Tanping village.

In February 1952, it began to set up Tanping Township, belonging to datan district.

In July 1961, Tanping township was changed into Tanping commune.

In April 1983, Tanping commune was changed into Tanping township.

In 2018, Tanping township was changed from township to town.

The town people's government is stationed in Tanping village.
