Taoping Town, subordinate to Lixian County, Longnan City, Gansu Province, is located in the southwest of Lixian County, adjacent to Shiqiao Town and Jiangkou Town in the East, Zhongba Town, Baiguan town and Shajin town in the south, Shangping town in the west, Qiushan town and Luoba town in the north, 36 dry meters away from Lixian County, with a total area of 291.99 square meters.

In April 1941, Taoping township was established; in 2016, Taoping township was changed to Taoping town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Tao Ping town was 15383. As of June 2020, Taoping town has 17 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the town people's government is stationed in Xiaping village.

The main food crops in Taoping town are wheat, corn and potato, and the main economic crops are rhubarb, walnut and Zanthoxylum. Taoping town is a gold mine production base in Lixian County, which has formed an industrial system dominated by gold production. History of construction

Taoping town is named after Taoping river.

In April 1941, Taoping township was established.

In July 1952, Taoping district was established.

In February 1953, it was renamed the seventh district.

In June 1955, it was restored to Taoping district.

In August 1961, Taoping commune was established.

In March 1983, Taoping commune was changed into Taoping township.

In 2016, Taoping township was changed from township to town.
