Suyuan Town, subordinate to Chengxian County, Longnan City, Gansu Province, is located in the west of Chengxian County, adjacent to Zhifang town in the East, Suochi Township in the south, Kangxian county and Wudu across the river in the west, Xihe County in the north, 37 kilometers away from Chengxian County, with a total area of 52.29 square kilometers.

In December 1949, Suyuan town was divided into Suyuan Township and Longwo township; in 2016, it was changed from Suyuan township to Suyuan town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of Suyuan town was 8731. As of June 2020, Suyuan town has 10 administrative villages.

The main food crops in Suyuan town are wheat and corn; the main animal husbandry is cattle, pigs and poultry. In 2018, Suyuan town has three comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

History of construction

In December 1949, Suyuan and Longwo townships were established.

In October 1958, it was incorporated into Ogawa commune.

In October 1961, Suyuan commune was established.

In December 1983, Suyuan commune was transformed into Suyuan township.

In 2016, Suyuan Township changed from township to town.
