History of construction
In May 1950, Yongji township was established.
In April 1953, Nanping township was added.
In June 1956, the two townships were merged into Yongji township.
In September 1958, it belonged to hejiamen management area of Wenfeng commune.
In December 1961, Yongji commune was established.
In July 1983, it was changed to Yongji township.
