Huocheng Town, subordinate to Shandan County, Zhangye City, Gansu Province, is located in the southwest of Shandan County, adjacent to damaying Township in the East, Junma Sanchang in the south, Minlian Township in Minle County in the West and Liqiao Township in the north. It covers an area of 176.9 square kilometers. In 2018, the registered residence population of Huo town was 20170.

In 1938, Fuxing township was established. In 1961, Huocheng commune was established. In 1983, the commune was transformed into a township. In June 1999, Huocheng town was built. As of October 2019, Huocheng town has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Huocheng town is located in Xiguan village.

In 2018, Huocheng town has four comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

Originally known as "black city", it was built in 1518, the 13th year of Zhengde in Ming Dynasty.

In 1938, Fuxing township was established.

In 1949, it was set as Tianshan District.

In 1953, it was renamed Huo Cheng in memory of general Huo Qubing.

In 1955, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged into Huocheng township.

In 1961, Huocheng commune was established.

In 1983, the commune was transformed into a township.

In June 1999, Huocheng town was built.
