Beiwan town
Beiwan Town, subordinate to Jingyuan County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, is located in the west of Jingyuan County, on the North Bank of the Yellow River, adjacent to mitan Township in the East, Yingfang village and pingbao township of Wulan town across the Yellow River in the south, Silong town of Baiyin District in the West and Liuchuan Township in the north, with a total administrative area of 267.6 square kilometers.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was called the western district; in 1983, it was changed into Beiwan township; in September 2001, it was withdrawn from the township and built into Beiwan town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in the town of North Bay was 48209. In June 2020, nine administrative villages will be under the jurisdiction of Beiwan town.
At the end of 2011, the total financial revenue of Beiwan town was 1.168 million yuan, an increase of 8.6% over the previous year. In 2018, there were 13 industrial enterprises in Beiwan Town, including one above scale and 17 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was called the western district.
In September 1949, JianZheng became the Sixth District Office.
In January 1956, Beiwan township was established.
In October 1958, Beiwan commune was established.
In 1963, it was changed to Beiwan district office.
In 1968, it was renamed Beiwan commune.
In 1983, it was changed to Beiwan township.
In September 2001, the township was removed and built into Beiwan town.

By the end of 2011, Beiwan town had seven administrative villages: Tianzi, Gaoya, Gucheng, Beiwan, Tai'an, Jinshan and Zhongbao, and 72 villager groups.
In June 2020, Beiwan town has nine administrative villages: Jinshan Village, Tianzi village, Gaoya village, Gucheng village, Beiwan village, Tai'an village, Zhongbao village, Xinping village and Fuping village. The people's Government of Beiwan town is located in Beiwan village.

Beiwan town is located in the west of Jingyuan, north of the Yellow River, with gentle terrain. The terrain is a river valley, close to the river and the mountain. The Yellow River flows through the whole territory from west to East. The main mountains are Wuliang Mountain and Taibai Mountain. Wuliang Mountain, the highest peak in the territory, is 1773.3 meters above sea level; the lowest point is located in the river bend of Zhongbao village, 1455 meters above sea level.

Beiwan Town River belongs to the Yellow River Basin, flows through the territory of 22 kilometers, belongs to the ancient river bed, groundwater is shallow, generally in 3-8 meters below.
natural disaster
The main natural disasters in Beiwan town are mountain torrents, frost, hail and so on. Mountain torrents occur once a year, mainly from September to November. The most serious one occurred on September 12, 2008. The floods destroyed more than 200 mu of paddy fields and 2 km of roads in Jinshan Village, resulting in direct economic losses of more than 300000 yuan.

Si'erwan Grottoes
Sierwan grottoes, also known as Hongluo temple, is built in the red rock cliff. It is located in Tianzi village, Beiwan Town, Jingyuan County, 20 kilometers east of the county seat. It is one of the important Buddhist temples in the territory. Sierwan Grottoes was listed as a county-level cultural relic protection unit in 1978 and promoted to a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit in 1981.
