Hongcheng Town, belonging to Yongdeng County, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, is located in the southeast of Yongdeng County, adjacent to Zhongchuan and Shuping towns in the East, Kushui town in the south, Qishan Township in the West and longquansi town in the north. The area is 22.8 square kilometers. In 2018, 27695 people registered residence.

At the beginning of 1950, Hongcheng district was set up. In August 1956, the district was removed and the town was changed. In September 1958, it was changed into Hongcheng commune. In June 1983, it was changed to urban and rural areas. In July 1984, the township was transformed into a town. In June 2020, nine administrative villages will be under the jurisdiction of Hongcheng town.

Historical evolution

In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Zhuanglang Wei, Zhuanglang qianhusuo, Pingfan county and Zhuanglang tea and horse hall.
