Potou street, belonging to Yaozhou District, Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the southwest of Yaozhou District. It is adjacent to Xianfeng road street and Zhengyang Road Street in the East, Sanyuan County of Xianyang City in the south, Xiaoqiu town in the West and Guanzhuang town in the north, with a total area of 60 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

In the Ming Dynasty, there was a village at the end of the gully, which was called Potou village. The village was named after the town government.

It used to belong to Xiaoqiu commune in Yaoxian county.

In January 1961, it was put under the jurisdiction of Tongchuan City and established Loucun commune, which is located in Shanglou village and has jurisdiction over 10 production brigades including Bao Village, Niu village, youjiazui, Shanglou village, Fenglan, Tunli, Huayuan, baicaopo, Zhangjiagou and ZuiZi. In August, it was restored to Yaoxian County.

In 1965, the resident moved to the present site.

In April 1983, it was changed into a township with jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages.

In October 1998, Potou town was rebuilt.

In July 2011, Changming village of Guanzhuang town was divided into Potou Town, with a total of 11 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
