Banfangzi Town, belonging to Zhouzhi County, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the south of Zhouzhi County and the north foot of Qinling mountain. It is adjacent to Wangjiahe town in the East, changjiaoba town in Foping County of Hanzhong City in the south, houwanzi town in the West and Chenhe town in the north, with a total area of 374.44 square kilometers.

The origin of place names

In 1644, local residents built houses with wooden boards, which was named after the house (Village) where the town government was stationed.

History of construction

In 1958, it was changed into a commune and transferred to Zhouzhi County, and soon back to Foping county.

In 1962, it was put under Zhouzhi County and set up as banfangfang commune.

In 1984, it was changed into banfangzi township.

In 2001, the original anjiaqi township was merged into banfangzi township.

In 2011, banfangzi town was changed into a town.
