Cuomei means "under the lake" in Tibetan. Tubo Period is under the jurisdiction of Yue Ru. In the Yuan Dynasty, it was the territory of ten thousand families in Yasang. In 1354, the local government of Pazhu established jiazizheguzong (later zheguzong, now cuomei county). During the reign of gaxia government, the administrative division of zheguzong was still retained, which was under the jurisdiction of Luoka (Shannan) Jiqiao. In 1959, zheguzong and damaduigu were merged and renamed Zhegu county. In 1960, Shannan was set up as a special area of Shannan. In 1965, with the approval of the State Council, Zhegu county was renamed cuomei County, which belongs to Shannan area. The county government is now in cuomei town. Cuomei county is located in the south of Tibet and the north foot of the Himalayas. It covers an area of 4524 square kilometers. The cultivated land area is 16000 mu, the grassland area is 6.3 million mu, and the woodland area is 35000 mu. It has jurisdiction over 12 townships and 46 villagers' committees. The county belongs to the Plateau Lake Valley area of the original lake basin area of the southern Tibetan mountains. It has always been the seat of cuomei county government. Mowujue temple, located 2 kilometers to the east of the county, is a famous temple of Ningma school. It is located on a high mountain with an altitude of 5000 meters and has a history of hundreds of years. Zhegu lake is located 60 kilometers northeast of the county. Cuolong reservoir is one of the major water conservancy projects in cuomei town during the Tenth Five Year Plan period. Since the start of the project in last month, the project has been progressing smoothly, and the farmers and herdsmen have made obvious profits. The project is mainly composed of three parts: retaining dam, spillway dam and water conveyance tunnel, with a total investment of 470000 yuan, a total storage capacity of 31798 cubic meters, a total height of 20 meters and a total bottom width of 33 meters. Since June 9, the project has purchased 12 tons of cement, transported 5693 cubic meters of stone, 3166.5 cubic meters of soil and 75 cubic meters of sand; farmers and herdsmen have participated in the above-mentioned transportation of cement, stone, soil, sand and wood, generating a total income of 107971 yuan. A total of 4062 person times of labor force were dispatched, and the total wage of labor force reached 418400 yuan. It directly increased the cash income of 149800 yuan for the broad masses of farmers and herdsmen.
