It is located in the southwest of Lang County, Linzhi City, Tibet, 60 kilometers away from the county seat. It is the most remote and the highest altitude Township in Lang county.

In June 1959, gurulange district was established. In April 1988, it was changed to dengmu township. In 1996, it covers an area of 380 square kilometers and has a population of 3000. It governs 16 administrative villages, including duolong, Lilong, bengga, Ruzi, MIMO, Jiu, Basang, Sen, Jiaojie, dengmu, Zili, Luolong, sangqiong, bengda, Zhuoga and Guolong.
