Rongzhi Township

Dingri County, Xigaze City, Tibet Autonomous Region of the people's Republic of China governs the township and three administrative villages, namely cangmujian village, zuobude village and Dacang village.

Located in the southwest of Dingri County, Xigaze City, Tibet Autonomous Region, close to Nepal, it is one of the five border towns in Dingri County, with three external mountain passes. It belongs to Mount Everest nature reserve.

Historical evolution

It is located in the southwest of Dingri County, Xigaze City, Tibet, adjacent to Nyalam County in the west, gangga town and zhaxizong Township in Dingri County in the north, and bordering the kingdom of Nepal in the east southeast south southwest. The township is about 38 kilometers long from east to west and 46 kilometers wide from north to south. located in the neru River Basin, at the southern foot of the Himalayas, it has been one of the main roads between Gurkha (now Nepal) and China since ancient times. Rongha township is a rare paradise on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau. the whole Township belongs to the Himalayan mountain system, with an altitude of 2500-7340 meters. The terrain is uneven, with an average altitude of 3400 meters. There are many peaks above 5000 meters, such as qiogru (7176 meters above sea level, the same below), chirenma (7134 meters), tebula (5832 meters), nababuri (5746 meters) and pushla (5424 meters). The altitude of cangmujian village is 3340m. in 2015, from gangga town along the township road gangrong highway, you can directly enter ronghagou, about 3 hours by car. You can also enter ronghagou and ronghagiang through zhaxizong township. the whole territory of rongha township is greatly affected by the warm and humid air flow of the Indian Ocean. It belongs to the climate zone of rongha valley cutting, and is a typical humid climate zone from subtropical to alpine ice source in the south wing of Himalayas. The rainfall in the area is abundant in summer and warm in winter. it belongs to the Indian Ocean water system, and the river runoff is supplied by precipitation, glaciers and snow mountains. In the high mountain area, there are many ice lakes, such as langbucuo, yalaocuo, niangzongmajue, tinggei xiasangma, etc. Rivers in the township include Ronghe River, mailong River, Sangsi River, etc. In 1791, the Kuo army invaded Xigaze and plundered it. The central government of the Qing Dynasty sent Fu kang'an to lead the batulu bodyguard Zhang Jing to encircle and suppress the Gurkha army, and the houkuo army asked to surrender. At that time, through negotiation between the two sides, the border fortresses such as Jilong, Nyalam and rongha were "set up with boundary markers and boundaries". Located in the river valley with an altitude of 2800 meters, the administrative region of Rongxia township is relatively flat and has a certain development prospect. For rongha, it's better not to develop it on a large scale. It's better to keep the original appearance where snow mountains and canyons are rubbed together. If the traffic in rongbei can last at least eight months, a scenic "Jiangnan Town" with a population of 500-1000 can be built here as a place for exploration and tourism.

Population nationality

In November 1975, there were more than 100 households and 512 people (excluding the Garrison) living in Rongzhi township. In 2008, there were 716 people in 169 households. In 2012, there were 195 households and 836 herdsmen in the township. total population 946 (2017). in July 2018, the total population of the township was more than 900.

rural economy

At the end of 2008, the per capita income of the township reached 3757 yuan, of which the cash income reached 2935 yuan (the township is rich in Cordyceps sinensis). In 2012, the total economic income of the township was 6.5231 million yuan, and the per capita income was 5826.71 yuan. The township is the only Township producing cordyceps sinensis in Dingri county. In recent years, the rising price of Cordyceps has brought considerable cash income to farmers and herdsmen. It is a relatively wealthy Township in Dingri county.

Infrastructure construction

On April 6, 2017, after the "4.25" earthquake, a bidding announcement was issued for the sangdianqu debris flow control project in cangmujian village, Rongzhi Township, Dingri county. The construction contents include: a comb bar is set at the exit of the mountain to block coarse debris flow and discharge fine debris flow, and the main reach of the drainage channel is set at the downstream. In 2018, rongha township is building Chentang village border well-off village, rongha niluqiao border defense highway project and other projects.

Culture and education

Rongzhi Township Primary School has been built. in may 2015, there were 113 students and 9 teachers in Rongzhi Township Primary School. Affected by the "4.25" earthquake, the school building became a dangerous house, and the school was transferred to the simple tent school in the temporary settlement. on April 25, 2017, the post disaster reconstruction project of rongha primary school started. on July 10, 2019, the completion ceremony of "Benshan teaching building" was held in Rongzhi Township Primary School of Dingri county. on August 20, 2019, Rongzhi Township Primary School of Dingri county held a school opening ceremony in the new campus reconstructed after the disaster.

Ecological environment protection

In March 2009, an adult snow leopard (a national protected wild animal) was found in cangmujian village, rongha Township, and was released to the mountain forest by the villagers. in August 2013, the herdsmen in rongha Township sent the injured rock sheep, a wild animal under the second level national key protection, to the township government. After treatment, recovery and health, the sheep were put back into the wild.
