Qubuxiong Township

Sangzhuzi District of Shigatse City governs the township. Qubuxiong township was established in 1960. When the district was withdrawn in 1988, three townships originally belonging to Jiacuo District merged into qubuxiong township. Township government in Kangsa village, located in the southwest of the city, 13 km away from the city. With an area of 324.99 square kilometers and a population of 5800 (2017), it is accessible to roads. It has jurisdiction over 15 village committees, including Kangsa, Gyangze, banjiulunbu, Daji, Gangxi, Ding, bianma, luoqu, ZANU, jiadui, Rigang, dingga, Zada, jiaka and Zaza. The agriculture mainly includes highland barley, wheat and rape. It is one of the major grain producing townships in Shigatse City.

Animal resources

The main livestock are yak, cattle, yak, horse, donkey, goat, sheep, pig, chicken, etc. There are dozens of wild animals, such as red panda, langur, bison, brown bear, black bear, leopard, macaque, wild boar, river deer and wild cat, living in subtropical and temperate forests on the south slope of Himalayas. There are snow leopards and rock sheep living near the snow line. There are nearly 100 species of wild yak, wild donkey, rock sheep, antelope, yellow sheep, argali, fox, hare, Swertia deer, wild wolf, lynx, marmot, etc. on the plateau to the north of Himalayas. There are more than 200 species of bird resources, including eared pheasant, Tibetan snow pheasant, vulture, black necked Crane, blood pheasant, fish gull, wild duck, spotted goose, Red Headed Gull, brown headed bird, red billed bird, Sunbird, tit, wild pigeon, dove and sparrow.
