Fengyu town

Location area

Fengyu is located in the southwest of Eryuan County, Yunnan Province, adjacent to yousuo in the East, ironmaking in the west, huadianba in Dali and Maidi Township in Yangbi County in the south, with an average altitude of 2200 meters. The town covers an area of 195 square kilometers. The town government is located in Fengxiang Village Committee, 18 kilometers away from the county and 20 kilometers away from national highway 214.

Historical evolution

Before the Western Han Dynasty, when fengyuba was still a high mountain lake, luowu people lived on the waterfront in the west of the lake, mainly fishing and hunting. Later, before the Han Dynasty, the Chu general "Zhuang Qiao Kai Dian" led tens of thousands of soldiers into Yunnan. Some of the Qiang people who originally lived in the Northwest Plateau moved to Yunnan and formed many tribes in the Dian sea area. Fengyu county was set up in the late Nanzhao period, Fengyu County in Dali state, Fengyu inspection department after merging langqiong County in Minghong period, Fengyu Township in the Republic of China and Eryuan County. Fengyu township was set up in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture from the founding of new China to November 1956. It was changed into Fengyu commune and Fengyu district after 1958. It was set up as Fengyu Township in 1987 and township in September 2000 .
