Labo Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Ninglang Yi Autonomous County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, China, is located in the dry and hot river valley at the northernmost end of Ninglang county. It borders Yiji Township, Muli County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, and Luoji Township, Shangri La City, Diqing Prefecture in the north, fengke Town, Yulong Naxi Autonomous County across the river in the west, Cuiyu Lisu and Pumi Autonomous Township in the south, and Yongning Township in the East.
It covers an area of 307.03 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 10991 (2017). It has jurisdiction over five administrative villages: Tuodian, Jiaze, Tianba, Gewa and labo. Mainly in agriculture, it belongs to the river valley area. With an annual per capita income of only 650 yuan, Ninglang county is one of the most remote poverty-stricken townships.

As of November 2007, there are 2223 households with a total population of 10818, including 5409 males and 5409 females. Among them, there are 10763 agricultural population and 5348 labor force. The township is mainly Mosuo people. It is a mixed place of Mosuo, Han, Pumi, Miao, Zhuang, Naxi, Lisu and Tibetan. There are 2385 Han people, 3698 Mosuo people and 4735 other ethnic groups. By the end of 2007, 8459 people had participated in the rural cooperative medical system. The medical treatment of the people in this township mainly depends on the village clinics and township hospitals. There are four village clinics in our Township, with an area of 1015 square meters and seven rural doctors; there is one township hospital, with an area of 1200 square meters and nine doctors; the township hospital has a complete set of hospital, pharmacy, injection room, charging room, inpatient room, obstetric room, etc. as of 2017, there were 10991 permanent residents.
cultural education
Since 2002, the township's primary school education performance has been among the best in Liangshan district. Labo middle school has been listed in the national pilot program of distance education. The school has opened broadband and distance education courses. The school and teaching conditions have undergone qualitative changes. as of November 2007, there are 6 completed primary schools and 23 primary schools in the township, with a building area of 7020 square meters and 59 primary school teachers. There are 2246 students in rural compulsory education, including 1816 primary school students, with an enrollment rate of 99.17%; labo middle school has 430 students, with an enrollment rate of 100%. the government has successively implemented a series of policies to support and subsidize students, such as "aide fund", bell, Yunnan daily, league and county Party committee, National Department of basic education, charities linked, special ethnic minority projects, County staff donations, two exemptions and one subsidy. By the end of 2006, a total of 1.55 million yuan has been invested, including 550000 yuan for middle schools and 1 million yuan for primary schools.
