Longchang town

Longchang town is located in the middle of Fuquan City, Guizhou Province, about 10 kilometers away from the urban area, with developed transportation and obvious location advantages. It is an important transportation hub and material distribution center in Southern Guizhou, and one of the "four big towns" in Fuquan. At present, the town governs five administrative villages with 23500 people, covering a land area of more than 100 square kilometers and 156000 mu of cultivated land. Yang opera has a large number of repertoires and more than ten kinds of singing, which has high artistic and ornamental value and is highly valued by experts at home and abroad. In July 2004, the first Yangxi Association in Fuquan city was established.

Huangtu Shaoyang Opera

The villagers of Dashuigou, Longchang town, performed the Huangtu Shaoyang opera "single sword meeting" in the local Guandi temple. It is a kind of ancient Nuo opera with a history of 600 years. Fuquan Huangtu Shaoyang opera, formerly known as "Yuan Huangbao altar", has 18 altars, but now it is the only one left. There are eight artists in the troupe, most of whom are over 50 years old, and the elder is 85 years old. Huangtu Shaoyang opera has a wide range of performances, which can be performed continuously for one month without repetition. Regular performances are held three times a year in the first month, may and June of the lunar calendar. All performances of a play take four days and four nights.

Huangtoushao "Yang opera" is a pure folk activity, which is a bit of self entertainment. Therefore, it generally does not go out for public performance in the village, and only performs a few times a year in the village. After the autumn harvest, the performance depends on the harvest of the year. With a good year, the interest in singing opera is high. During the Spring Festival, the "Yang opera" will last for ten and a half days. It's a favorite entertainment for the villagers in the mountains.

The remaining classic plays include Meng Jiangnu, Liu Yi's biography, an an an's sending rice and so on, most of which are derived from folklore and historical stories. Its distinctive lyrics and beautiful tunes express people's praise for the historical figures in ancient China and the promotion of the legendary people's actions of fighting evil and upholding justice.

Although it is only performed in the countryside, Yang opera pays great attention to the beauty of modeling. The stage should be set before each performance, and the "case" (stage background) should be hung during the performance. The costumes, especially masks, are unique. Mask is the main symbol of Nuo opera. Generally, there are 24 faces in one jar, but there are 36 faces in Huangtu Shaoyang opera, but only 17 faces are left in the collection of Nie Shixue. The mask is simple and exaggerated in shape, gorgeous in color, various in forms and rich in style. It can be divided into six types of "Wen, Wu, Lao, Shao, male and female", full of rich ancient charm. From this perspective, we can not help but see the primitive and deep sense of hardship in the heart of human beings and the strong desire for a better future. It is said that these masks are handed down from the Ming Dynasty, and they are still used from generation to generation. They are very precious.

In 2008, the total population of the town was 22839, including 18792 Han people, accounting for 82.3% of the total population, 3132 non-agricultural people, accounting for 13.7% of the total population, and 4047 ethnic minority people, accounting for 17.70% of the total population.
