Shuiweishui township is located 76 kilometers west of Rongjiang County, Guizhou Province, with a total area of 174.7 square kilometers. It governs 5 administrative villages and 28 villager groups, mainly inhabiting Shui and Miao. In 2014, it had a population of 4282.
geographical position
Shuiweishui township is located in the southwest of Rongjiang County, in the hinterland of the moon mountain. It is one of the "two mountains" poverty-stricken towns in the new stage of provincial and state poverty alleviation. It is 64 kilometers away from the county, adjacent to Congjiang County in the East, Libo County in the South and Sandu County in the West.

It has 5 administrative villages (now merged into a central village, Shuiwei Central Village), 28 villager groups and 48 natural villages, with a total of 4282 people in 927 households in 2014. 98% of them are agricultural population, mainly inhabiting Shui nationality and Miao nationality. Shui nationality accounts for 96.4% and Miao nationality accounts for 3%.

The township covers an area of 174.7 square kilometers, with an altitude of 560-1490 meters. The area of cultivated land is 2268.3 mu, including 1558.3 mu of paddy fields. Shuiwei township is rich in forest resources, with a forest coverage rate of 90.9%, and a forest area of 14963.22 hectares, including 4086 hectares of Chinese fir forest and 9326 hectares of broad-leaved forest. It is one of the towns with the best preserved forest vegetation in the upper reaches of the Pearl River. In the forest, there are black leaf monkey, golden monkey, Podocarpus, red birch and other state key protected animals and plants, especially the vast virgin forest on the top of the main peak of the moon mountain It's magnificent, boundless and amazing. It's known as "the open-air museum of national history and culture". Thanks to the National Forest Tenure Reform and the "natural forest protection project" policy, the Shui people here live in harmony with nature and stick to the two bottom lines of development and ecology.
