Wengdong town

Wengdong Town, subordinate to Tianzhu County, Guizhou Province, is located in the easternmost part of Tianzhu County, Guizhou Province. It is located in the lower reaches of Qingshui River and borders Huitong County, Zhijiang county and Xinhuang County of Hunan Province, with a total area of 134.1 square kilometers. It governs 22 administrative villages and a neighborhood committee, with a total population of 22226. The Miao and Dong nationalities account for 99% of the total population. At present, the new market town has been moved to suoping village, Wengdong town.

Wengdong town is located in the northeast of Tianzhu County, Guizhou Province. The town government is located in Wengdong village, 39 kilometers away from the county. It is located in the lower reaches of Qingshui River, adjacent to Banshan, Dalong Township and Mobin township of Zhijiang County, Hunan Province in the East, Jiangdong Township and Baishi town of the county in the south, Lantian town of the county in the west, Bilang and mibei township of Xinhuang County, Hunan Province in the north. Wengdong town is the last important town where Qingshui River flows out of the province, and the water transportation is very convenient. Therefore, Wengdong town has always been one of the important commodity distribution centers in Guizhou Province. In recent years, in order to speed up the development of water transportation and build a cargo distribution center centered on Wengdong Town, the province and prefecture invested 2.15 million yuan to build Wengdong water terminal, the second comprehensive river port in the province, in 1995.

The world bank loan has been used for afforestation of 1865 mu. Animal husbandry and fishery

Wengdong town has its own characteristics in animal husbandry and fishery. 90% of the families in the town have always adhered to the traditional pig raising method - eating wild vegetables and cooked food to feed pigs. The pork is especially sweet, tender and crisp. The price of meat is the lowest in Hunan and Guizhou provinces within hundreds of square kilometers.
