Bibo town was established in May 2013 with the approval of the provincial government. In August 2014, Majiang county was officially put under the jurisdiction of Kaili city. With a total area of 115 square kilometers, the town has 8 administrative villages, 66 villager groups and 159 natural villages, with a total population of 6459 households and 24562 people. The cultivated land area is 17568.92 mu, including 10909.69 mu of farmland, 6659.23 mu of soil, and the forest coverage rate reaches 50.6%. There are altogether 2064 registered poverty-stricken households and 8167 people in the whole town. Since 2014, there have been 7684 poverty-stricken households in 1863 households, and there are still 480 poverty-stricken households in 201 households. The incidence of poverty has decreased from 34.37% in 2014 to 1.99% in early 2019.

Bibo town is located in mountainous area, belongs to Kaili low and middle mountain valley, with an average altitude of 900 meters. It belongs to subtropical monsoon humid climate zone, with mild climate, long frost free period and abundant rainfall. The annual average temperature is 14.9 ℃, the daily average temperature is stable 10 ℃, the effective accumulated temperature is 546.3 ℃, the frost free period is 283 days, and the annual precipitation is 1300mm. The northern and northeastern parts of the territory belong to alkaline black sand soil, and the central and southwestern parts belong to acidic yellow soil, which is suitable for crop cultivation.
