Ganxi Gelao and Dong nationality township
Ganxi Gelao and Dong township is under the jurisdiction of Shiqian County, Tongren City, Guizhou Province. Ganxi Gelao and Dong township has four administrative villages, Ganxi, Puxi, Fuyan and dipao, and 105 villager groups. It is a minority Township mainly composed of Gelao, Dong and Qiang. The township is adjacent to Pingshan Township in the East, Shibing County, Yuqing county and Jufeng Township in the south, Baisha Town and Guorong Township in the west, and Shiqian County by Zhongba town in the north. With a total area of 158 square kilometers, more than 9776 mu of arable land and a total population of 13600, it is an agricultural township with more people and less land.
"Ganxi" is named after the Buddha top mountain. It is clear because of the Buddha top mountain, sweet because of the Buddha top mountain, and eternal because of the Buddha top mountain. Ganxi Township nestles in the arms of the towering Buddha top mountain and is raised in the bosom of the boudoir. Although it is only about 21 kilometers away from the county, it is still an old, young, border and poor national poverty alleviation and development township. In October 1934, the long march advance team of the 2nd and 6th Red Army Corps encountered the main forces of the enemy forces in Hunan, Guangxi and Guizhou. The famous Ganxi encounter took place here, resulting in heavy casualties. The memorial tower of Ganxi martyrs inscribed by Xiao Ke is a patriotic education base at the county level. the township is a national poverty alleviation and development township. In 2003, the per capita grain income of the township was 345 kg, the per capita net income of farmers was 667 yuan, and the total agricultural output of the township was 279200 yuan. Before the national exemption of agricultural tax, it was one of the 100 townships in China.
