Beihe town
Beihe town is located in the southwest of Leizhou City, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, adjacent to Beibu Gulf in the West. It has many excellent seaports, covering an area of 183.76 square kilometers (2017) and cultivated land of 98000 mu. It has 30 administrative areas and 106 natural villages with a population of 86004 (in 2017). The town is located in beihewei, 43 meters above sea level, 55 kilometers away from Leicheng. It is adjacent to Wushi, Longmen, Qishui and other towns.
General situation of villages and towns
There are canals built from Longmen reservoir to irrigate the farmland of villages in the town, and Longmen river flows through Haikang port of the town to the sea. Beihe town is a semi agricultural and fisheries area. The inland is mainly agricultural, while the coastal area is mainly fishing and salt. Its crops include rice, sugarcane, sweet potato, garlic and beiyuncai. Mango is well-known here. It has planted more than 6000 mu, which will be greatly developed in the near future. Watermelon and pineapple are also abundant. The breeding industry has developed rapidly and its benefits have been continuously improved. Pearl has an annual output of more than 2 tons and an output value of more than 20 million yuan. Shrimp culture 4200 mu, output value of 25 million yuan, green crab is also famous. Township enterprises mainly include construction, transportation and brick making, with an output value of more than 16 million yuan. The raw salt produced in Yanting salt field is famous for its high yield and good quality. Beihewei has a sugar factory (closed) with a daily output of 2500 tons. Longwu highway passes through the local area with convenient transportation.
climatic conditions
Beihe town is located in the west of Leizhou, with more sunshine hours, higher temperature, frequent drought, less rainfall and uneven distribution. The annual precipitation is only 1180 mm, so the drought is severe in nine years. In addition to drought, it is often threatened by natural disasters such as typhoon and rain. On August 11, 2007, under the influence of Typhoon "pabu", a flood occurred in Leizhou once in a century. Among the rainstorms, Beihe town in Leizhou Peninsula suffered the most.
